OUR VERDICT
Which Device Is Right for You?
Both are strong devices. The right choice depends on your monthly print volume, finishing needs and budget.
CHOOSE THIS IF...
VersaLink C7130: The natural choice for most UK businesses
You want a reliable, well-supported A3 colour device backed by Xerox's UK engineer network and XOS UK's fully managed contracts
Your monthly volume sits between 1,500 and 7,000 pages — the VersaLink is built for exactly this workload
ConnectKey gives you scan-to-cloud, Xerox App Gallery integration and Fleet Orchestrator management as standard
McAfee embedded security and Xerox's Security Dashboard provide enterprise-grade protection without enterprise-tier pricing
You want one supplier — XOS UK can provide, manage and service the VersaLink under a single contract covering consumables, maintenance and callout
Choose the VersaLink C7130 if you want a straightforward, capable A3 device with the full weight of Xerox UK behind it. That is most offices.
CHOOSE THIS IF...
Ricoh IM C3010: Worth considering for specific feeder or ecosystem requirements
You regularly scan very large batches of originals and the 220-sheet SPDF is a genuine daily operational requirement you cannot work around
You already hold Ricoh managed print contracts on other devices and introducing a second manufacturer creates procurement friction
Booklet making is a standard workflow requirement and you cannot accommodate it as an external process
Your monthly volume sits consistently below 2,000 pages and Ricoh's pricing in your region is materially lower
Choose the Ricoh IM C3010 only if document feeder capacity or an existing Ricoh agreement are overriding constraints — otherwise the VersaLink C7130 is the stronger, better-supported device.
SECTION 01
Build quality and reliability
How each device is designed and what that means for your environment.
Xerox VersaLink C7130
The VersaLink C7130 is compact for an A3 colour device, designed for shared workgroup use in offices printing up to around 7,000 pages a month. The chassis handles the recommended usage level comfortably without mechanical stress. Xerox's UK parts availability and engineer coverage are strong, which is a practical consideration when evaluating total cost of ownership beyond the initial lease cost.
Ricoh IM C3010
The Ricoh IM C3010 sits in the mid-range of Ricoh's colour lineup, sharing its platform with the IM C3510. The 10.1-inch Smart Operation Panel runs on Android OS 10, which means the interface is familiar to users accustomed to modern touchscreen devices, and app updates are handled through a standard Android environment. Ricoh's service and parts network is well established across the UK with strong engineer coverage.
SECTION 02
Paper handling and capacity
Tray configuration, maximum capacity and document feeder capacity.
Xerox VersaLink C7130
The VersaLink C7130 ships with approximately 1,140 sheets across two paper trays and a bypass tray. Optional 520-sheet trays can bring the maximum to 2,140 sheets. The 130-sheet DADF handles duplex scanning reliably for multi-page documents. For most offices at moderate monthly volumes this configuration is adequate, though high-volume users will reload trays more frequently than they would with the Ricoh.
Ricoh IM C3010
The Ricoh IM C3010 ships with 1,200 sheets standard across two 550-sheet trays and a 100-sheet bypass tray — marginally more than the VersaLink out of the box. Maximum expansion reaches 4,700 sheets with optional trays, substantially higher than the VersaLink's 2,140-sheet ceiling. The 220-sheet SPDF is particularly notable: it holds nearly 70% more originals in a single session than the VersaLink's DADF, which is a real-world advantage for offices that regularly scan or copy large batches of documents.
SECTION 03
Finishing options
Stapling, hole punching and output handling.
Xerox VersaLink C7130
The VersaLink C7130 supports optional finishing through an add-on stapler unit covering stapling and hole punching. For most workgroup environments producing standard office documents, this is sufficient. Booklet making and document folding are not available on this device.
Ricoh IM C3010
The Ricoh IM C3010 supports a wider range of optional finishing configurations depending on the chosen finisher. Multi-position stapling, hole punching and saddle-stitch booklet making can all be added. For offices that regularly produce bound reports or folded leaflets, the Ricoh's finishing flexibility gives it a clear advantage.
SECTION 04
Connectivity and cloud integration
Cloud integration, mobile printing and platform ecosystem.
Xerox VersaLink C7130
The VersaLink C7130 runs Xerox's ConnectKey app platform, providing direct integration with Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox and Box. Third-party apps can be installed via the Xerox App Gallery. Remote management is supported through Xerox Fleet Orchestrator. The 7-inch touchscreen navigates common workflows well for day-to-day use, and USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi are all standard.
Ricoh IM C3010
The Ricoh IM C3010 runs Android OS 10 through its 10.1-inch Smart Operation Panel. Ricoh's Smart Integration platform handles scan-to-cloud workflows with direct support for OneDrive, SharePoint and Google Drive. Mobile printing via Mopria, AirPrint and Ricoh Smart Device Connector is supported. The larger screen makes navigating more complex workflows easier, particularly in multi-user environments where staff run different jobs from the same device.
SECTION 05
Leasing costs and cost of ownership
Lease costs, cost per page and running cost considerations.
Xerox VersaLink C7130
The VersaLink C7130 carries a competitive monthly lease for a top-of-workgroup A3 device. Under a managed print contract from XOS UK that includes consumables and maintenance, the cost per page at typical monthly volumes is predictable. Xerox's strong UK engineer coverage reduces the risk of downtime, which is a meaningful factor in the total cost of running any device.
Ricoh IM C3010
The Ricoh IM C3010 is available at a comparable lease level to the VersaLink C7130. For organisations already holding Ricoh managed print agreements on other devices, extending coverage to the IM C3010 can simplify contract management. The higher maximum paper capacity reduces consumables replenishment frequency, which is a practical running cost advantage for higher-volume environments.
